MISSION

I am you and you are me, and we are the sun, the moon, and the stars. Music was the beginning, and it can rescue us from the end. I am one of music’s soldiers in the battle for omnipresent peace and love. Join me…

Bio

Brian’s original compositions have been a staple of the Long Island and New York City music scene since the mid 1990’s. Brian’s first professional performance was a show at the (now closed) “My Little Café” in his hometown of Long Beach, NY. The sold-out show overflowed out of the café onto the street. This gave Brian the confidence to further pursue performing his original music. Brian has had a number of successful groups throughout the years including “Jonah,” “Montgomery Jam Session (MJS)” and “The Battle of Everyday,” who were Saturday night regulars at the world-famous Bitter End in New York City in the mid 2000’s. He has been performing with TheSunriseNY since its formation in 2007. Outside of these groups, he has performed at Carnegie Hall, Birdland, and has shared a stage with John Pizzarelli and Ray Charles. Brian received his bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance from Hofstra University, where he studied under guitarist Rick Stone, and pianist and composer Dr. David Lalama. Brian received his master’s degree from Hofstra as well, in Music Education. He has been a music teacher for over 18 years, serving as a band director at both the elementary and high school levels. Brian released an album titled “The Mirror” in September of 2019. It’s made up of 11 original songs featuring his distinctive vocals and guitar playing. His second album, “Letters from an Isolated Introvert,” is a 10-song album that was released in 2 parts. Part 1 was released in July of 2020 and Part 2 was released in January of 2021. Brian’s third solo album titled “Windows to Something Else,” was released in September of 2022. Between March of 2021 and September of 2023, Brian wrote, recorded, and performed with the well-known Long Island based hard rock band “Terror Garden.” They released the album “Psychotic Disorderly Magick” on June 4th, 2023, which includes Brian’s guitar playing, backup vocals, and songwriting contributions. Brian is a volunteer songwriter for Songs of Love, a national nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that creates free, personalized, original songs to uplift children and teens currently facing tough medical, physical or emotional challenges. Brian has been writing and recording one song a month for a different child since 2019. Brian’s fourth solo album, Love’s Season, was released on November 15th, 2024. It features 10 new recordings, and is packed with unforgettable melodies, grooves, and guitar solos. The universal themes of passion, peace, and love represent his most introspective, poetic lyrics to date.
